Deciphering the “will to fight”: key to understanding world conflicts

A team of researchers from UNED and ARTIS International has developed an ambitious project to unravel the factors that drive the will to fight in conflicts around the world. As a result of this work, the article Transcultural paths towards the will to fight has recently been published in the prestigious international journal PNAS, signed by Ángel Gómez, professor at the Faculty of Psychology of the UNED and recipient of the ERC Advanced Grant A Multi-Theory Multi-Method Approach for Preventing and Reducing Radicalization leading to Violence — MULTIPREV as principal investigator, together with professor, also from UNED, Alexandra Vázquez, and Scott Atran, member of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States.
